The collar does it all. On this short puffer jacket, a very wide faux fur folds over the shoulders like a shawl and stops sharply at the shoulder line; underneath, a padded high collar protects the neck. The rest follows the same generous logic: dropped shoulders, balloon sleeves ending in long knitted ribbed cuffs that cover the back of the hand, two large gathered patch pockets at hip level, and an inner cord that tightens the waist to puff the silhouette above and below. The central zip rises to the chin and is backed by a small knotted tie at chest level. The hem stops at the hips: the piece stays short and the line of the bottom keeps its poise.
An off-white roll neck, grey flannel straight trousers and black high boots: the volume is already in the quilted puffer jacket, the bottom stays clean and long. With the collar folded down, it passes the office; with the collar up to the cheeks, it faces frosty mornings; worn open over a pale knit, it takes on a softer look. Aged brown pairs with raw denim as well as grey, ecru brightens low-light days, and black with silver-grey faux fur remains the safe bet.
